How did you feel about your 3D ultrasound?
Our 3D ultrasound was such a wonderful experience. It gave us a level of connection with our little one that we have never been able to experience before. It’s so special to have such personal time with my husband to bond with our baby. We couldn’t believe the amount of detail and activity we could see with the 3D ultrasound in comparison to the medical ultrasounds we’ve had prior to this experience. Best of all, we found out we are having a little BOY!
Describe some of your feelings and overall experience at BabyView?
It was so exciting to watch our baby in action. He was cuddled to the side sucking his thumb – so precious! The experience at Baby View was very personal and welcoming. Cheryl was so kind and made the atmosphere very relaxing. Of course, we were thrilled to be able to find out the gender of our baby, and have confidence in the accuracy. We love the DVD and the pictures of our little one – it’s so nice to be able to share them with family and friends..
Who are the other family members awaiting your baby’s arrival?
He isn’t even here yet, and he’s so loved already! Grandma Maddy and Grandma & Grandpa Shirley are so proud to welcome the first Grandchild – The first on both sides of the family! Also very excited are all the first time aunts and uncles; Uncle Kyle & Aunt Jenn, Uncle Chris & Aunt Michelle, Uncle Darren & Aunt Julie. His Great Grandparents, Great Aunts and Uncles, and cousins are also all very eager to meet him!
Does your baby have a name yet? If so, is he/she named after anyone special?
We will be naming him Charles Louis Shirley – Charlie for short. Charles is his Great Grandfather’s name. Our baby’s Great Grandfather is 86 years old now and a war veteran. Louis is his Grandfather’s name. They are both very special people and we couldn’t be more honored to name our son after them.
Did you think your baby resembled anyone in your family? Why or how?
He looks like he’s going to get his Daddy’s ears! His father always had larger ears when he was little, and we couldn’t help but notice our baby’s ears in the ultrasound pictures! His Mommy was quite the thumb-sucker when she was little, and it looks like he may have picked up that trait! (Considering he was sucking his thumb the majority of the ultrasound!)
What are your hopes and dreams for your baby’s future?
We hope he loves to laugh. Those good hearty laughs that make your belly hurt. That he knows there’s nothing better than a smile to make someone’s day – including your own.
We hope his dreams are like the night sky – there’s something about the night sky that feels endless.
We want him to appreciate the sunsets. Knowing it isn’t an ending but only a start. It’s the new beginnings and the cycles of our lives that make life worth living.
We want him to know you’re never too old to squish your toes in the mud. Learning that it’s all about moments, one after the other, after the other – simple moments that are to be cherished a lifetime.
We hope that he is strong and healthy. That he knows there’s always a safe and happy place to call home. We hope he loves to go for walks, and he really appreciates those long ones you have to take on your own sometimes. Walks are always wonderful on your own, but most walks are best when you have a hand to hold. We wish for him to know the endless love of family, each and every day. To know kisses and hugs mean so much more than “I love you”. Most importantly little Charlie, we want you to know that Mommy and Daddy love you more than words can ever say.
