The "pretty in pink" scoop on our ultrasound at BabyView
Oh I woke up early this morning because I am so excited to tell you all about our ultrasound yesterday! Prepare yourself – this is going to be a gush fest!
Our ultrasound was just an amazing experience! I had seen a lot of 3D u/s pictures but I had never prepared myself for the power of it. Technology never ceases to amaze me. Our u/s tech was absolutely phenomenal and obstetrical ultrasounds are her passions and that clearly shone through.
I actually got to sit on the ultrasound bed with GS and we held hands through it. That was really neat for me because it’s like we joined our energies; spiritual, emotional and physical. B sat right over by our tech and the screen. GS and I had a plasma on the wall to watch along. The first image that we saw was a beautiful silhouette of our baby and I was just shocked at the clarity of the profile!
Then our tech switched to 4D and I instantly started crying – like a happy sobbing type of cry but I didn’t even know that I was doing it because I was so transfixed by our babies image. GS was in the same shape from my reaction and B was just totally grinning! Our tech said: “S – already you have just made my day.”
Our tech knew that we wanted to know the sex in a bad way so she got right down to business. It only took her two seconds to find what she was looking for and she said: ”Congratulations, you have a DAUGTHER!” It was like time stood still for me for a moment while I processed it. A daughter?!?!!? Then the laughing and crying started! B was like: “Oh I can totally see the lines!!!!!!” while pointing at the screen. Ahhh – it was another one of those moments for me, one that I will never forget and I am actually having a hard time putting it into words but to sum it up that ultrasound room just glowed with so much love, happiness, friendship and.......pink! I see the world now through pink coloured glasses!
Our ultrasound lasted for 30 minutes and there was loads of:
“awwww”’s
“Look at her mouth!“
“Look at her feet”
“This is so awesome!”
“She has your nose!”
And lots of happy tears. I cannot wait to meet her and hold her and cover her with kisses. When we were finished, we headed in the waiting room while our tech prepared our DVD and CD. GS looked so happy for us and we all had a group hug to celebrate! I pulled out my cell and dialed my mom and we all huddled around it. I put it in speaker phone so everyone could hear. When Mom answered she sounded so excited and anxious to hear. I told her; “Mom we are going to have a little girl!” and she went nutz! She was cheering and yelling and it was THE BEST reaction! The people that she was with were cheering and I am sure that all of Montreal heard her happiness as she was standing on one of Quebec’s mountains. (She was on a business trip) It was such a wonderful experience for Brad and I to hear her so happy. She will be her very first granddaughter!
