Crystal Sarrazin - Wilson & Family

Dear Cheryl,

Just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful DVD and pictures of our son, we can't wait to meet our little guy! Not only was it wonderful to truly put a real face on the little person growing inside me, but your pleasant surroundings of calming music and dimmed lights were a far cry from the typical hospital environment of my past ultrasounds and truly made this ultrasound experience the best yet! I will highly recommend your services to any expecting women i know!

Sincerely,

Crystal Sarrazin - Wilson & Family

What is 4D Ultrasound?

3D ultrasound is an ultrasound technique used during pregnancy providing 3D images of a baby. These images are captured rapidly and animated to produce a "4D ultrasound" (real-life moving images) of a baby.

Scans Uncover Secrets of the Womb

A new type of ultrasound scan has produced vivid pictures of a 12 week-old foetus "walking" in the womb.

The new images also show foetuses apparently yawning and rubbing their eyes.

The scans, pioneered by Professor Stuart Campbell at London's Create Health Clinic, are much more detailed than conventional ultrasound.

Professor Campbell has previously released images of unborn babies appearing to smile. He has compiled a book of the images called Watch Me Grow.

Conventional ultrasound, usually offered to mothers at 12 and 20 weeks, produces 2D images of the developing foetus.

These are very useful for helping doctors to measure and assess the growth of the foetus, but convey very little information about behaviour.

Complex Behaviour

Professor Campbell has perfected a technique which not only produces detailed 3D images, but records foetal movement in real time. He says his work has been able to show for the first time that the unborn baby engages in complex behaviour from an early stage of its development. Professor Campbell told the BBC: "This is a new science for understanding and mapping out the behaviour of the baby. "Maybe in the future it will help us understand and diagnose genetic disease, maybe even conditions like cerebral palsy which puzzles the medical profession as to why it occurs."

The images have shown:

From 12 weeks, unborn babies can stretch, kick and leap around the womb - well before the mother can feel movement

From 18 weeks, they can open their eyes although most doctors thought eyelids were fused until 26 weeks

From 26 weeks, they appear to exhibit a whole range of typical baby behaviour and moods, including scratching, smiling, crying, hiccuping, and sucking.

INTRODUCING BABY GRAY, Whitby Ont.

Congratulations to Danielle and Jason Gray who are our February BabyView of the Month winners.

Meet beautiful baby Gray…..the first baby for Danielle and Jason. The proud parents-to-be are thrilled they are having a beautiful baby girl. Although Danielle and Jason have chosen a name for their little angel, it will be kept a secret and announced upon her arrival. Grandparents Carm and Lou Macchione and Linda and Frank Lane along with Rick Gray and great grandparents Rosa Rigitano, Dorina Macchoine, Elenore and Edward Gray, are eagerly awaiting her arrival this May 2008. Uncles Marc, Frank and Mike are also anticipating the arrival of a little niece to spoil. Danielle and Jason have a little Shih Tzu puppy named Cleo, who is becoming a lot more “clingy” these days and is sensing the big change-taking place in their home.

Even though it’s still in the works the preparations have taken place for baby Gray’s nursery. Danielle and Jason have ideas of creating a very girly themed room with soft pastel pinks. We’re sure baby Gray will love to come home to this sweet room designed just for her.

Danielle and Jason came to BabyView when she was 23 weeks along in her pregnancy. They couldn’t believe just how much their little girl looks like her daddy, especially when she is peacefully sleeping. Everyone in their family couldn’t agree more with the resemblance between father and daughter. “It was a very amazing and emotional experience, I would definitely recommend it! It was wonderful to see our baby in 3D on the big monitor. We are just hoping for a healthy happy baby and a safe and easy delivery, 10 fingers and 10 toes”, says the happy couple.
Congratulations, once again, Danielle and Jason and we look forward to seeing you in March for your free 3D scan. Best wishes from us here at BabyView.
