December BabyView of the Month

Friday, January 15th, 2010

Congratulations to our December and our final BabyView of the Month winners Jeannie and David from Oshawa, Ontario

How did you feel about your 3D ultrasound?

My husband and I were in awe at the sight of our first baby. Just to see him in such detail was amazing and exhilarating all at once. We were so focused on his movements and were surprised at the range of motion that he is capable of. Of course he was being a cheeky monkey and was hiding his face from us for most of the ultrasound, but Cheryl stuck with it and we finally got a fantastic shot. We were so happy to confirm we were having a baby boy.

Describe some of your feelings and overall experience at BabyView?

We were amazed when our baby smiled at us, waved to us and grabbed his ankles. He was so wonderful to watch. We felt a range of emotions while we watched him move, Happiness, Love, and Fascination. The atmosphere was so relaxed and it was wonderful that Cheryl was also excited about our baby. She made us feel so comfortable and we felt right at home at BabyView. We came right home and sent the photos to all of our family and friends.

Who are the other family members awaiting your baby’s arrival?

This little boy has been so loved from the moment we found out we were pregnant. His Amma Margaret, Poppa Don, Nana Donna and Grandpa Jim are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their baby. The aunts and uncles as well as our extended family of friends are also very eager to meet him. We cannot wait to introduce our little one to his fur brothers and sisters, two dogs, Emma and Fisher and two cats, Harley and Butters.

Does your baby have a name yet? If so, is he/she named after anyone special?

The name we chose for our little boy is – Liam David Wallace – Liam is a name that we chose together. The name David comes from his Daddy and Wallace is to honor his mommy’s Grandmother, whom is missed everyday, but will be watching over him from Heaven.

Did you think your baby resembled anyone in your family? Why or how?

Liam is a beautiful baby. He has his daddy’s big hands and mommy’s nose. We cannot wait to see what other features he is going to have. He is perfect already, we could never have imagined he would be so handsome.

What are your hopes and dreams for your baby’s future?

We just want our Liam to know how loved he is. He will be surrounded by love and laughter everyday. We hope that he is healthy and strong, and lives a full life surrounded by those who love him. We also want him to be confident in all he does, live life to the fullest everyday, and to appreciate the little moments life has to offer. We would like Liam to have a generous heart, and to share it with the world even if it is in a small way. He has already enriched our lives just by being. We cannot wait to meet our little boy and are excited to welcome him into this wonderful world.

Keep a lookout for our new series called “Ask Cheryl” Where you can ask Cheryl Mech, the owner and registered medical sonographer any questions regarding your sonogram or 3d ultrasound and she will help out with the answers!

See you soon!

Congratulations To Rebecca And Jeffrey, The winners of our Baby of the month contest.

How did you feel about your 3D ultrasound?

Our 3D ultrasound was such a wonderful experience. It gave us a level of connection with our little one that we have never been able to experience before. It’s so special to have such personal time with my husband to bond with our baby. We couldn’t believe the amount of detail and activity we could see with the 3D ultrasound in comparison to the medical ultrasounds we’ve had prior to this experience. Best of all, we found out we are having a little BOY!

Describe some of your feelings and overall experience at BabyView?

It was so exciting to watch our baby in action. He was cuddled to the side sucking his thumb – so precious! The experience at Baby View was very personal and welcoming. Cheryl was so kind and made the atmosphere very relaxing. Of course, we were thrilled to be able to find out the gender of our baby, and have confidence in the accuracy. We love the DVD and the pictures of our little one – it’s so nice to be able to share them with family and friends..

Who are the other family members awaiting your baby’s arrival?

He isn’t even here yet, and he’s so loved already! Grandma Maddy and Grandma & Grandpa Shirley are so proud to welcome the first Grandchild – The first on both sides of the family! Also very excited are all the first time aunts and uncles; Uncle Kyle & Aunt Jenn, Uncle Chris & Aunt Michelle, Uncle Darren & Aunt Julie. His Great Grandparents, Great Aunts and Uncles, and cousins are also all very eager to meet him!

Does your baby have a name yet? If so, is he/she named after anyone special?

We will be naming him Charles Louis Shirley – Charlie for short. Charles is his Great Grandfather’s name. Our baby’s Great Grandfather is 86 years old now and a war veteran. Louis is his Grandfather’s name. They are both very special people and we couldn’t be more honored to name our son after them.

Did you think your baby resembled anyone in your family? Why or how?

He looks like he’s going to get his Daddy’s ears! His father always had larger ears when he was little, and we couldn’t help but notice our baby’s ears in the ultrasound pictures! His Mommy was quite the thumb-sucker when she was little, and it looks like he may have picked up that trait! (Considering he was sucking his thumb the majority of the ultrasound!)

What are your hopes and dreams for your baby’s future?

We hope he loves to laugh. Those good hearty laughs that make your belly hurt. That he knows there’s nothing better than a smile to make someone’s day – including your own.
We hope his dreams are like the night sky – there’s something about the night sky that feels endless.
We want him to appreciate the sunsets. Knowing it isn’t an ending but only a start. It’s the new beginnings and the cycles of our lives that make life worth living.
We want him to know you’re never too old to squish your toes in the mud. Learning that it’s all about moments, one after the other, after the other – simple moments that are to be cherished a lifetime.

We hope that he is strong and healthy. That he knows there’s always a safe and happy place to call home. We hope he loves to go for walks, and he really appreciates those long ones you have to take on your own sometimes. Walks are always wonderful on your own, but most walks are best when you have a hand to hold. We wish for him to know the endless love of family, each and every day. To know kisses and hugs mean so much more than “I love you”. Most importantly little Charlie, we want you to know that Mommy and Daddy love you more than words can ever say.

How did you feel about your 3D ultrasound?

The experience of our 3D ultrasound was amazing from the moment we walked in there until the time we left. The atmosphere was very calming and warming; which took away any nervousness that we were feeling. Cheryl is friendly and sociable which made our visit pleasant. You can tell from the moment you walked through the door, that she really enjoys her job.

Describe some of your feelings and overall experience at BabyView?

Our overall experience was worth every penny. This is our 3rd child and we never experienced this before with any of our other children. At our 18 week diagnostic ultrasound with my Doctor, we were told that we were having a baby girl, so doing this 3D ultrasound we would be able to confirm the gender as well as get a clearer image of what she looks like before her big arrival. Well we were shocked!! Our baby was beautiful. Little button nose. Cute little lips. We were in complete awe. Then the big surprise was that our daughter was in fact a baby boy. The news was shocking but certainly didn’t change the way we felt…as long as our baby is healthy.

Does your baby have any siblings?

Our new bundle of joy will be welcomed home by his big brother, Tyler who is 8 and big sister, Ashley who is 4.

Who are the other family members awaiting your baby’s arrival?

I would love to be able to list the family members awaiting the arrival of our new son; however we would be here forever

Does your baby have a name yet? If so, is he/she named after anyone special?

After being told by Cheryl at BabyView we were having a baby boy, we are currently searching the internet and reading all the books on Baby Name.

Where will the baby’s first home be?

We plan on having our son at Markham Stouffville and bringing him to his home in Pickering.

Did you think your baby resembled anyone in your family? Why or how?

After coming home and looking at the images, we have noticed that our new son has the same features that our oldest son Tyler, a button nose, cute lips, and big hands.

What are your hopes and dreams for your baby’s future?

As most parents would say, we just hope for a safe and healthy arrival of our son.

Congratulations to Nikki and Gary

March BabyView of the Month Contest Winners

Congratulations to Suzanne and Robert, the winners of our March BabyView of the Month contest.

How did you feel about your 3D ultrasound?

The feeling was overwhelming; it’s so hard to believe that the little person inside me looks like that already with other ultrasounds it’s just not as real.

Describe some of your feelings and overall experience at BabyView?

The first time you see your baby is when they’re born but with this ultrasound it’s like meeting the baby before he or she takes his first breath. We was very excited after we booked our appointment, it was hard to wait the week out. My husband who is not easily excited was just giddy. When we were inside having the ultrasound it was hard not to cry because of how beautiful he was.

Does your baby have any siblings?

Our baby has one sibling her name is Mina. She is 2 1/2 years old and really she knows there’s a baby but it hasn’t kicked in that the baby is coming home to stay.

Who are the other family members awaiting your baby’s arrival?

There are four grandparents’ lots of cousins and aunts and uncles waiting for his arrival. On one side there are already 9 grandkids from ages 20 to under a year, then on the other side there is only 2.

Does your baby have a name yet? If so, is he/she named after anyone special?

We have decided to name our new baby Calvin after his uncle on his dad’s side, which his uncle thought was cool.

Where will the baby’s first home be?

We will bring Calvin home to Ajax, Ontario near the end of June hopefully it won’t be to hot.

Did you think your baby resembled anyone in your family? Why or how?

When my husband and I were in the 3d ultrasound we thought that baby Calvin looked like his two year old sister Mina, which funny for my husband because he thought his genes in the boy area would be more dominated then mine. Mina looks just like I did when I was two. It was all in the face, their noses are very much the same.

What are your hopes and dreams for your baby’s future?

We hope that baby Calvin grows up to be health and happy, with a good outlook on life, and knows with a little hard work he can be anything he wants to be.

We would say if you want to be amazed 3D ultrasound with BabyView is the way to go, we have never been more satisfied.

Congratulations to Jennifer and Danny, the winners of our February BabyView of the Month contest.

What an amazing experience! It was so warm and moving to see our little baby’s feet, fingers, toes, skin, nose, facial features, ears, heartbeat, and most of all to get a sneak peak at her little chubby body.

Describe some of your feelings and overall experience at BabyView?

When we arrived we met Cheryl and felt very relaxed and welcomed. The front office was very organized and inviting. The overall atmosphere of the place is special.

Who are the other family members awaiting your baby’s arrival?

Does your baby have a name yet? If so, is he/she named after anyone special?

We love the name Jadyn but it’s still up for debate says Dad. No, the name isn’t after anyone special.

Where will the baby’s first home be?

The baby’s first home will be in Bowmanville, Ontario.

Did you think your baby resembled anyone in your family?

The baby resembled mostly Dad. But Dad hopes that changes into Mommy’s hot looks.

Winners of our January BabyView of the Month contest!

How did you feel about your 3D ultrasound?

LOVE! PRIDE! RELIEF! I was blown away at the detail that we were able to see in the baby, watching him move, listening to his heartbeat. It was very reassuring that he is indeed healthy and growing well. It was more than what I would have ever imagined. I now feel so much closer to him.

Describe some of your feelings and overall experience at BabyView?

The overall experience was amazing. The atmosphere was relaxing. I love that we were able to share the moment with the anxiously waiting relatives and take the recording home to show the missing relatives.

Who are the other family members awaiting your baby’s arrival?

We have decided to name the baby Dominik. We just LOVE the name

I still cannot believe the detail that we were able see in the 3D ultrasound. Dominik has a nose comparable to his father; however, he has lips like his mother. I was shocked to see his chunky little cheeks.

We hope he will always be healthy, strong, and happy and we can help encourage him to dream big!

The winners of our December Babyview of the month contest!

Describe some of your feelings and overall experience at BabyView?

It was unreal and was an experience we will never forget. You are in a professional and relaxing environment. We could not believe that we were actually looking at our little girl. You get to see what she looks like before she’s born. It was amazing to see that at only 23 weeks the baby was so well developed and how she was able to smile and move her mouth to swallow. I couldn’t tell you how many times I fought back tears. It was also reassuring to see the baby and know that she was healthy. This was by far the best investment my husband and I made during our pregnancy. We will cherish the day in which the ultrasound was done and when we first got a glimpse of our little girl. I look forward to sharing it with her when she gets older.

Who are the other family members awaiting your baby’s arrival?

There are so many people awaiting this little girl’s arrival. On the Maternal side: Grandpa Howell, Grandma Delaney, Grandpa Beauchamp, and Auntie Robin. On the Paternal side: Grandpa Scriver, Grandma and Grandpa Matwey, Auntie April and Uncle Trevor, and Cousin Alyssa. This little girl is also lucky enough to have many wonderful close family friends to welcome her to the world as well.

Does your baby have a name yet? If so, is he/she named after anyone special?

Our little girls name will be Aviana Juliet Kimberly Scriver. Aviana was invented by my husband and I unintentionally; we were looking for Native American names which had meaning. I originally thought the name was Aviana, it turned out with further research that it was Ayiana. Because my husband is a pilot we agreed that Aviana was different and that we should keep it. Juliet was another name that my husband and I liked. Kimberly was my husband’s best friend who sadly passed away at the early age of 20. It was important to him that Kimberly be incorporated somehow. We will shorten her name to A.J.

Where will the baby’s first home be?

Our baby’s first home will be located in Newcastle, On

Did you think your baby resembled anyone in your family? Why or how?

We think that Aviana will look more like my husband. From the ultrasound pictures she has my husband’s nose and lips. Many people have said that Aviana definitely has my chubby cheeks.

What are your hopes and dreams for your baby’s future?

Our only hopes and dreams for our baby’s future is that she continues to grow healthy and lives a happy life. Choosing a career in which she is happy and successful in.
